B S Yeddyurappa biopic: Coming to a screen near you!

It has all the makings of a political potboiler, a lite-version of All the President’s Men.

And the germ of an idea is set to grow into a full-fledged motion picture.

Excise minister Renukacharya has decided that the trials and tribulations of Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa have all the ammo required for a great big cinematic salvo. The film on BSY’s life is being viewed as an attempt to showcase his loyalty towards Mr Yeddyurappa.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Kannada film director Dr S.V. Rajendra Singh Babu, said that Mr Renukacharya, whom he met during a recent function, spoke to him about the project and he willingly accepted.

“I was excited when Renukacharya offered me the project. It is still in the initial stages. Filming fiction is easy whereas to work on a biography is difficult. Nothing has been finalised so far, and casting will be done as per requirements, after a detailed study,” said Mr Babu.

The birthplace of Mr Yeddyurappa, Bookanakere, a village in KR Pet taluk of Mandya district, Shikaripura and Shimoga are some of the places where a large part of the movie will be filmed, sources said.
