Special train arranged for relatives of passengers
Following the derailment of 12 coaches of the Delhi-bound Howrah-Delhi Kalka Mail at Malwan Station in Uttar Pradesh, a special train carrying relatives of the affected passengers was arranged from New Delhi railway station via Delhi Junction railway station on Sunday evening.13 trains cancelled
In addition, two helpline numbers have also been set up in the Capital to provide information on the passengers and details on the rescue and relief operation.
Owing to disruption of railway traffic on the Allahabad-Kanpur section of North Central Railway due to the derailment, 13 trains were cancelled and 25 trains were diverted.
The affected trains included the New Delhi-Sealdah Rajdhani Express, New Delhi-Howrah-Rajdhani Express, New Delhi-Rajinder Nagar Rajdhani Express and New Delhi Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express which were diverted to run via Kanpur-Lucknow route.
Meanwhile, a special train carrying 165 passengers of the ill-fated Howrah-Kalka Mail departed from Malwan railway station at 7-30 p.m. on Sunday and it is expected to arrive at Delhi Junction railway station at 3 a.m. on Monday.
